Romfilatelia puts in circulation all postage stamps dedicated to 100th anniversary of Chisinau-based Mihai Eminescu National Theatre
Chisinau, 2 March /MOLDPRES/ - Romfilatelia has put into circulation all postage stamps, issued on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the foundation of the Chisinau-based Mihai Eminescu National Theatre (TNME). The stamps were issued under the aegis, The Mihai Eminescu National Theatre from Chisinau – Promoter of the Romanian Language and Culture.
Contacted by MOLDPRES, the TNME director, People’s Artist Petru Hadarca said that the stamps show personalities of the theatre stage and film: Eugeniu Ureche (1917-2005), Valeriu Cupcea (1929-1989) and Costache Antoniu (1900-1979). They represent three generations of actors, through whom the Romanian theatre and culture asserted themselves and developed in the area to the east of Prut river.
