Fuel prices drop in Moldova for second consecutive week, influenced by developments on international markets

Fuel prices are dropping for the second week in a row, a trend driven by developments on international markets. During this period, the petrol price has decreased by 2 per cent, while diesel - by 1.75 percent. The price cuts will continue during the weekend, when drivers will by pay up to 0.07 lei less for fuel.

The National Energy Regulatory Agency (ANRE) today informed that the slight reduction in domestic prices comes as Platts quotations and Brent crude oil prices continue to fall, with the latter reaching levels below 65 dollars/barrel.

"The downward trend is triggered by a reduction in geopolitical risks following the ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hamas, as well as OPEC+'s decision to moderately increase oil production, maintaining a balance between supply and demand," informed ANRE.

Under these conditions, for the next three days, ANRE has set a maximum price for gasoline at 22.79 lei, which is by 0.07 lei less than today. Diesel will also be by 0.07 lei cheaper, costing at most 19.65 lei.
