Ministry of Finance launches new subscription period for government securities
Citizens can invest in government securities within a new subscription period launched by the Ministry of Finance on evms.md. This will be open until October 15.
In this round, individuals can invest in government bonds with maturities of two years, with an annual interest rate of 6.80%, and three years, with an annual interest rate of 7.00%.
The interest is fixed and is paid semi-annually, directly into the investor's bank account.
From April 2025, the Ministry of Finance has established a monthly frequency of VMS issues, providing the public with constant access to safe saving and investment instruments. The interest is fixed, non-taxable, and payments are made semi-annually, directly into the investors' bank account.
Statistics show that in the last year, citizens of the Republic of Moldova have invested about 648 million lei in government bonds, within seven issues conducted by the Ministry of Finance on eVMS.md platform.
The platform eVMS.md was launched last summer. Government Securities are among the safest investment instruments due to the full guarantee offered by the state. Through VMS, the state borrows from citizens to finance development and economic growth projects in the country. VMS include treasury bills and government bonds.
