Bust of ruler Stefan cel Mare unveiled in Abaclia village, Basarabeasca district

The bust of ruler Stefan cel Mare was unveiled in the village of Abaclia, Basarabeasca district. The event was attended by Speaker Igor Grosu, Chairwoman of the Public Administration and Regional Development Commission Larisa Voloh, representatives of local public administrations of Moldova and Romania and residents.

“Stefan cel Mare represents a model we honor for determination, courage, and patriotism. When faced with challenges, we proudly remember all the historical deeds of the ruler who defended his people and knew how to turn dangers and complicated situations into opportunities. Today, we need such models because now, as then, we face challenges, but we must do everything possible to maintain peace and tranquility in our communities. His example should inspire us to be united so that our country prospers,” he said.

The bust is located in the center of the locality, and the initiative belongs to Abaclia mayor Victor Niculiță. The work was made of bronze by sculptor Veaceslav Jiglițchi, with the contribution of the town hall of Mănești, Prahova County (Mayor – Constantin Nițoi), a locality twinned with Abaclia, and donations from residents.

For the local community, the unveiling of the bust was a reason for joy, peace, dignity and faith.

On 2 July, it was 521 years since the passing into eternity of ruler Stefan cel Mare.
