Growth Plan for Moldova: progress in implementing reforms' agenda discussed at government
The progress made in implementing the measures of the Reforms’ Agenda for the second semester of this year today was analyzed at the monitoring meeting for the implementation of the Growth Plan for Moldova. The discussions were attended by Prime Minister Alexandru Munteanu, the members of the cabinet of ministers and the delegation of the European Commission, led by Gert Jan Koopman, Director-General of the Directorate General for Neighbourhood and Enlargement Negotiations (DG NEAR).
The PM said mentioned that institutions were fully committed to implementing the agenda and delivering the planned measures within the established timeframe. "We are working to advance at an accelerated pace, and our alignment with European standards is done not only for compliance with European requirements, but also from our national commitment as part of internal development, improving the standard of living and the progress of Moldova," said Prime Minister Alexandru Munteanu.
Some of the planned measures have already been fully completed and included in the first semi-annual report. The others are in the process of implementation and target the energy, economic, labor and environmental sectors. Based on the results achieved, the preparation of the second semi-annual report will begin in the coming days. Progress in implementing the actions from the Growth Plan allows for the unlocking of European funds and new investments in projects beneficial for citizens.
Secretary-General of the Government Alexei Buzu referred to investment projects in the context of the Growth Plan for Moldova and appreciated the Commission's openness for dialogue, guidance and support provided.
The Growth Plan supported by the European Union is the most extensive and ambitious financial support package in the history of Moldova, valued at 1.9 billion euros. It provides a unique opportunity to boost economic growth and improve the citizens’ living standards.
