PM visits winery of family in central Moldova village
Prime Minister Dorin Recean has visited the Rosca family’s winery in the village of Bratuleni, central Nisporeni district, where he had discussions with Dionisie Rosca, the young founder and manager of the company.
Until 2023, the Rosca family sold grapes and wine in bulk. After Dionisie graduated from a university in Germany specializing in winemaking and returned home, the entrepreneurs focused on modernizing their own production facility.
The young man participated in an investment programme of 12 million lei, of which five million lei represented subsidies provided by the Agency for Intervention and Payments in Agriculture (AIPA). Through governmental programmes, the Rosca family re-equipped the factory with new equipment, purchased a tractor and a sprayer, and invested in acquiring other machinery for the production facility.
‘’The results Dionisie achieves show that government’s programs provide real opportunities for young people choosing to return, invest and build at home in Moldova. We will continue to support young entrepreneurs and ensure that their initiative is encouraged through efficient programmes, access to financing and sustainable development opportunities,’’ Prime Minister Dorin Recean said.
This year, the company will launch the first edition of bottled wines under its own brand. Following their debut on the local market, the entrepreneurs aim to export to Romania, where they already have a partnership with a distribution company.
The Rosca family's vineyards span an area of 74 hectares with European varieties, planted near the village of Bratuleni in 2006. About 40 seasonal workers from the region are involved in seasonal works.
