Moldovan president awards prizes to authors of most original, creative Christmas Trees
Chisinau, 31 December /MOLDPRES/ - President Maia Sandu on 30 December had a meeting with the authors of the most original and creative Christmas Trees from Moldova. The teams which gathered most votes out of the overall number of over 90 photographs, received within the action, Decorate your Christmas Tree in your settlement!, launched by the head of state, were invited to the Presidency, the presidential press service has reported.
President Maia Sandu appreciated, along with the presidential advisers, the ingenuity of Alexandru Patras from the Pohoarna village, northern Soldanesti district, who created a Christmas Tree out of pine cones, as well as the creativity of a team from the Public Library of the Mandresti village, Telenesti district, which along with popular craftsperson Olga Ropot, made a Christmas Tree out of books. The head of state also met pupils of the gymnasium from the Zaicana village, Criuleni district, whose Christmas Tree, made of coloured balloons, was part of the charity campaign titled, From the bottom of the heart for Adrian. Adrian Portarescu, to whom this campaign is dedicated, joined the team from Zaicana as well. The Moldovan president wished the young man good health, noting that she had notified the Health Ministry about his health problem, hoping that a solution would be found to help Adrian.
„I congratulated them for the effort made to create an original Christmas Tree and I thanked them for active involvement, from the youngest to the oldest ones, in the life of their community. The way the village or city where we live will look depends on each of us,’’ President Maia Sandu said.
