Moldovan president discusses with Metropolitans from Moldova
Chisinau, 21 April /MOLDPRES/ - President Maia Sandu today, on the day of the Orthodox Easter’s Thursday, discussed with Most Right Reverend Vladimir, Metropolitan of Chisinau and All Moldova and Most Right Reverend Petru, Archbishop of Chisinau, Metropolitan of Bessarabia and Exarch of Land, the presidential press service has reported.
The discussions with the two hierarchs were focused on the ordeals through which the world and Moldova are going at present. The head of state urged them to be with the parishioners on this difficult period, when the people’s daily problems are amplified by the feeling of fear and uncertainty, triggered by the war in Ukraine. Maia Sandu thanked the two Metropolitans for having supported, along with the entire society of Moldova, the refugees from the neighbour country.
„The State and the Church must act united, when it is about the people’s health and safety. And we only benefit from the fact when the ministers of the Church preach respect, sympathy and good understanding between people and nations, for the sake of a common prosperous and peaceful future,’’ President Maia Sandu said.
In the end of the two meetings, the head of state congratulated the Metropolitans of the two Orthodox Churches on the forthcoming Easter Holidays and wished them good health and peace.
