Chisinau, 27 August /MOLDPRES/- Speaker Igor Grosu attended official inauguration of Moldova's Independence Day today, together with President Maia Sandu, Prime Minister Natalia Gavrilita, other officials, as well as special guests - Presidents of Romania, Poland and Ukraine, Klaus Werner Iohannis, Andrzej Duda and Volodymyr Zelenski, as well as Prime Minister of Ukraine Denis Smalgal, the parliament's communication and public relations department has reported.
The participants in the event watched Maia Sandu's speech, in which the act of courage of the independence makers - the signatories of the Declaration - and the long and difficult way of asserting the independent state of Moldova were noted.
This was followed by the Military Parade held on the Great National Assembly Square, which, according to the Ministry of Defense, was attended by 800 soldiers from the Balti, Cahul and Chisinau garrisons, and 420 employees of the MAI subdivisions, veterans and orchestra.
On August 27, the Republic of Moldova marks Independence Day. On this day, in 1991, the Declaration of Independence of the Republic of Moldova was adopted, which entered into force on the same day.
