
Moldovan speaker discussed with counterparts at Parliamentary Summit of International Crimea Platform
Chisinau, Oct. 25 /MOLDPRES/- Speaker Igor Grosu discussed in Prague with his counterparts at the Parliamentary Summit of International Crimea Platform, the parliament's communication and public relations department has reported.
During a discussion with President of the Riigikogu of Estonia Lauri Hussar, he spoke about the good bilateral relations of the last period. Grosu thanked for Estonia's participation in the 4th edition of the Moldova Support Platform, held in Chisinau on October 17, 2023, and for the fact that Moldova is a priority country for Estonian cooperation. "Estonia is an important partner for us in the implementation of sectoral reforms, such as digitization, strengthening legal institutions, strengthening Moldova's cyber security and strategic communication skills, including in our European course," Grosu said.
Grosu had a meeting with deputy speaker Kerstin Lundgren, and approached the situation in the region and the progress on the nine recommendations of the European Commission. He voiced hope that the good collaboration between the two countries will continue, Sweden being among the most important donors for our country. "Sweden is an important partner in our European path, offering us expertise in approximating national legislation with the EU acquis", he said.
The visit ended with the traditional meeting between Grosu and community of Moldovans settled in Prague. They addressed the political situation at home, the local elections, our country's accession to the European Union, the opening of negotiations, the progress of reforms, the fight against propaganda. "I convinced myself once again that our diaspora is connected with everything that happens at home and I asked them to continue to help us, and be our ambassadors where they are," he said.
