Moldovan speaker meets group of Italian MPs
Chisinau, March 28 / MOLDPRES /- Speaker Igor Grosu met this morning with a parliamentary delegation of the Italian Republic, led by Deputy Speaker of the Chamber of Deputies Ettore Rosato, the parliament's communication and public relations department has reported.
The meeting was attended by President of the Friendship Group with Italy Galina Sajin and member Mihail Druta, Vice President of the Commission on Foreign Policy and European Integration Ion Groza.
The talks focused on the current situation in the region and the humanitarian impact of the Ukrainian military conflict on the Republic of Moldova, as well as the evolution of Moldovan-Italian bilateral relations.
The speaker thanked the Italian authorities for contribution to the UN humanitarian aid for the management of the refugee crisis.
At the same time, the head of the Legislature pointed out the needs that our country needs immediately to deal with the extremely difficult humanitarian situation. Igor Grosu stressed in this regard that the speed of mobilization of the development partners of the Republic of Moldova is very important.
The Italian side expressed its determination to take the necessary steps to accelerate international efforts to support Moldova.
In other words, the successes in the relations between Moldova and Italy were appreciated, in particular, the recent signing of the Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Moldova and the Government of the Italian Republic on the mutual recognition of study documents; ratification by the Italian side of the Agreement in the field of social security; simplification of the car license recognition procedure; advancing the dialogue to eliminate roaming charges.
The sides also spoke about the consistent efforts of the Republic of Moldova for European integration, sending a message of support from the Italian partners.
The officials agreed to step up cooperation at the level of legislative institutions, including friendship groups and standing committees.
