Defence Ministry says object found in central district drone which illegally flew over Moldova on March 30
The Defence Ministry informs that the object discovered today in a field near the locality of Banestii Noi, central Telenesti district, is the drone that illegally flew through the airspace of Moldova on March 30, 2026.
According to the institution, following investigations carried out by the competent authorities, the correspondence between the device found and the target monitored by the air surveillance systems at the end of March has been confirmed.
The drone was detected on March 30, at 21:29, when it crossed the state border from the direction of the Odesa region (Ukraine). Its monitoring continued until 22:03, when it disappeared from the radar in the area of Orhei district.
“We confirm that the device identified in Telenesti matches the trajectory and characteristics of the target monitored on that date. The components discovered have been safely collected and are undergoing expert examination, in order to establish their exact origin and technical configuration,” the Defence Ministry said.
The Defence Ministry also announces that, together with other state institutions and external partners, it continues to monitor the airspace in order to ensure the security of citizens.
The authorities reiterate their call to the population not to touch suspicious objects and to immediately notify the 112 Service in such situations.
