More than 200 job vacancies offered by employers from various fields today were presented at a job fair held in the southern Cimislia town. The event was organized to mark the inauguration of the new premises of the Cimislia Employment Office, renovated and equipped with financial support from the European Union, through a project implemented by the International Labour Organization.
The event was organized by the National Employment Agency (ANOFM) and brought together employers, job seekers, authorities and development partners, strengthening dialogue and cooperation for a more inclusive and dynamic labor market.
Attending the event, Labor and Social Protection Minister Natalia Plugaru emphasized that job fairs stayed important even in the digital era, as they provide an opportunity for direct interaction between employers and people looking for work.
“Even though all vacancies can be found on various websites, it is important to continue this human interaction between employers and potential employees. Job fairs provide an opportunity for direct discussions, during which people looking for work can ask questions about companies and working conditions, while employers can identify the people they need. We will continue organizing these events throughout the country, as we consider them absolutely necessary. For us, helping people find employment is a fundamental priority,” Natalia Plugaru said.
The official highlighted the results achieved by territorial subdivisions in facilitating employment, noting that the Cimislia team had helped more than 500 people enter the labor market this year.“Over the next four years, we aim to facilitate the employment of at least 100,000 people, with the support of our colleagues from territorial employment agencies in all localities across the country. This means approximately 25,000 people annually. I am pleased that this year more than 20,000 people have already found jobs, and by the end of the year, we aim to help another 5,000 citizens find employment. Every hiring story matters, because behind every person who finds a job there is a family gaining a secure income. I am glad to see that the Cimislia team has also managed to exceed last year’s results. This proves commitment, responsibility and a desire to help as many people as possible find employment,” Natalia Plugaru said.
For her part, ANOFM Director Raisa Dogaru stressed that the newly inaugurated premises in Cimislia represented more than a modernized space—they mean more accessible services, better conditions and support closer to people.
“We want every person who walks through our doors to find guidance, confidence and solutions for entering the labor market. The today’s fair provides an opportunity for direct dialogue between employers and people looking for work. ANOFM will continue to support both job seekers and employers in need of staff through services and measures tailored to the needs of the labor market. I thank the European Union and all our partners for their support in modernizing employment services, the public authorities for their cooperation and our colleagues in Cimislia for their commitment and dedication. I hope that today’s event will conclude not only with a successful inauguration, but also with new partnerships, useful contacts and concrete employment opportunities. Together, let us transform labor market demand and supply into lasting partnerships, and public employment services into genuine support for the development of people and communities,” Raisa Dogaru said.
Julda Kielyte, Team Leader for Competitive and Inclusive Growth at the Delegation of the European Union in Chisinau, said that the new office would facilitate citizens’ access to employment services, contributing to the development of professional skills and connecting job seekers with employers.“This space is intended for people who want to develop their skills, acquire new abilities and make a fresh start in their professional lives. It is a place where we can create a connection between people looking for work and companies that need employees. Our objective is to match people’s skills with the needs of the labor market and contribute to creating a more inclusive market. For the European Union, it is important that these services be accessible to all members of the community, including people with disabilities. The investment in this office is part of a broader commitment to modernizing public services and bringing Moldova closer to European standards. The most important thing is that the benefits of these changes reach the people,” Julda Kielyte said.
The official noted that European Union’s support targeted not only infrastructure modernization, but also the strengthening of institutions and improvement of services provided to citizens, including in the field of labor protection.“This is not an isolated investment, but part of a broader effort by the European Union to support transformation in Moldova. We are investing in the modernization of social services, schools, kindergartens and nurseries, as well as in the development of infrastructure and institutional capacities. This is not only about infrastructure investments, but also about supporting reforms and strengthening institutions. The European Union will continue to support Moldova in building a more inclusive society and a more resilient economy that offers citizens more opportunities,” Julda Kielyte emphasized.
The job fair brought together 16 local employers from various fields. Participants had the opportunity to speak directly with employers, learn about vacancy requirements, working conditions and career prospects, submit CVs and schedule job interviews.
Contacted by MOLDPRES, Anastasia Sarbu, head of the Cimislia Employment Office, said that more than 200 jobs had been available in the area, with salaries offered by employers reaching 40,000 lei.
“The job offers are available to both men and women. In the past, employers referred to certain age limits and sought employees up to the age of 50, but the situation has now changed. They receive subsidies for hiring people over 50 and other categories of workers, with 80 per cent of the hired person’s salary reimbursed for six months. As a result, businesses are more open to offering employment opportunities to people of different ages. They are very receptive, even though there are mobility challenges and some job seekers live in rural areas. In addition to providing mobility subsidies, employers are willing to help solve this problem. If more than seven people interested in employment gather in one locality, we can organize transportation by combining two or three localities, making it easier for them to find jobs in the town of Cimislia,” Anastasia Sarbu said.
She stressed that the office’s representatives were working to quickly identify jobs for people seeking employment, so that they do not remain unemployed for long periods.“In Cimislia, we do not have people who remain unemployed for a long period. We have not had such cases, and I believe we will not have them in the future either. Citizens who contact us do not remain registered for long. If, on the day they contact us, we do not have a suitable job for an applicant—whether there are one, two or three people—we call them the very next day or travel to the area to identify a job offer. We want to respond to citizens’ requests as quickly as possible,” Anastasia Sarbu concluded.
The new premises were renovated and equipped with financial support from the European Union through the EU Support for a More Inclusive Labor Market in Moldova project, implemented by the International Labour Organization. The total value of the renovation works amounted to more than 426,600 euros, while architectural and engineering design services totaled approximately 22,600 euros.
The works involved the complete modernization of premises covering approximately 450 m². They were carried out between February and July 2026 and included the modernization of the facilities, the installation of furniture and IT equipment, accessibility features for people with visual impairments and the creation of a children’s room.
