The aircraft that exploded in the outskirts of Cotiujeni village, Briceni district, had “ГЕРАНЬ 4” markings on some of its components. The preliminary finding was made by experts from the Technical and Explosive Section, who have completed the on-site investigation.
According to the police, the explosion occurred approximately 10 meters above the ground after the aircraft struck trees. The blast damaged trees within a radius of approximately 25 meters.
Fragments of the aircraft’s body, made of fiberglass, as well as electronic components, cables, and power supply elements, were found at the scene.
Parts of the wings, equipped with servomotors and ailerons, were also identified. The “ГЕРАНЬ 4” markings were observed on some of them.
Experts also identified the propulsion system, consisting of a turbojet engine that was partially damaged in the explosion.
All components found at the scene were collected and sent for expert examination. The examinations are expected to establish the aircraft’s characteristics and other details. The police stated that no other devices or explosive substances were found during the investigation.
