Chisinau-Străseni-Călărași aqueduct to be declared public utility
Chisinau, 28 Sep. /MOLDPRES/- The construction of the main aqueduct Chisinau-Străseni-Călărași and the development of the infrastructure for the management of drinking water will be declared of public utility. Today, the parliamentary committee on economy, budget and finance approved the report on a draft law in this regard.
According to the project, the main pipeline for water transport has a length of about 53 km and will ensure the water supply of approximately 28 thousand inhabitants of the Străseni and Călărași districts.
Thus, the document includes a special expropriation procedure applicable to works of public utility, with compensations to be made by the Government from the state budget.
The project Improving the water infrastructure in Central Moldova is financed by the German Government through the state bank Kreditanstalt für Wiederaufbau ("KfW") and the National Fund for Regional and Local Development of the Republic of Moldova. The total value of the project is 25 million euros.
