
Cimislia town of Moldova hosts eighth edition of National Grapes Festival
Chisinau, 4 September /MOLDPRES/ - The eighth edition of the National Grapes Festival took place in the south Moldova Cimislia town on 3 September.
The festival brought together producers of grapes, exporters, scientists in the field, producers of packing and vine planting material.
At the event, visitors enjoyed a music programme, exhibitions, sales and tastings of grapes grown in vineyards from Moldova.
The agenda included topic-related contests titled, The most delicious grape, Giant Grape, The best presentation of producers, The best presentation of popular craftsmen, etc.
The 2023 year issue of this event was backed by the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), through the USAID-funded Rural Competitiveness and Resilience Activity Project (RCRA). ‘’This festival provides support to the vine-growing and wine-making industries, in order to enhance the competitiveness of the producers and exporters from Moldova and contributes to the creation of jobs in the rural areas,’’ USAID said.
More agro-gastronomic festivals dedicated to the apple, plum, bushes, strawberries, potatoes, pies, peaches, bread, etc. are organized in various settlements of Moldova.
