
Evghenia Guţul won position of governor of Gagauzia with 52.36% of votes
Chisinau, May 15 /MOLDPRES/- About 55 percent of the voters of Gagauzia expressed their choice on Sunday, May 14, for the elections of the governor of the autonomy. According to the data presented today by the Comrat Electoral Commission, the election was won by Evghenia Guţul, the candidate of the Shor Party.
According to the electoral authority in the region, in the runoff election - Evghenia Guţul - with 27,376 voters or 52.36% and Grigori Uzun, the representative of the Socialist Party, who picked up 47.64% of the votes, 24,913 voters.
The Comrat Electoral Commission said that some violations were recorded on yesterday's election day, but they cannot influence the election results.
Today, until 21.00, all electoral councils in the region must submit all documents related to the elections. Also, for 72 hours after the elections, the entire package of electoral documents will be presented to the Comrat Court of Appeal to verify the legitimacy of the election. According to the procedure, the Court's decision will be announced for no more than ten days.
