
German experts to provide consultancy in project on water supply in central Moldova
Chisinau, 31 January /MOLDPRES/ - The Centru Regional Development Agency (ADR Centru), in its capacity of implementer, and the CES German company have signed a contract on consultancy worth 1.5 million euros, within the project, Improvement of Water Infrastructure in Central Moldova.
The project is meant to cover the need of strengthening the capacities of the Project Implementation Unit (UIP) and the future regional operators, in the context of the legislative changes in this respect in Moldova, as well as of the water operators’ regionalization.
A working meeting has been recently held at the headquarters of ADR Centru, the goal of which was to assess the UIP’s capacities and establish the needs for ensuring a good implementation of the activities planned within the project which provides for the construction of the Chisinau-Straseni-Calarasi water main and connecting to the water network of the settlements stipulated in the project, in four phases of implementation.
The UIP members presented the individual duties, provided for in the regulation, by which the unit is guided and discussed the needs of training for each position.
An expert of the Sachsen Wasser Company of Germany is to organize similar visits also to the representatives of the water operators from Straseni and Calarasi, in order to establish the individual necessities of professional growth, for the good implementation of the project.
The project, Improvement of Water Infrastructure in Central Moldova, is financed by the German Federal Government, through KfW. At the same time, ADR Centru represents the institution of its implementation. The cost of the project is of about 27.65 million euros, of which 25 million euros is the grant provided by the German government and 2.65 million euros – the guaranteed contribution of the National Regional Development Fund.
