
Plan on project concerning Moldovan town's supply with water updated
Chisinau, 16 March /MOLDPRES/ - The members of the local directing committee (CDL) of the project, Improvement of the services of supply with water and sanitation in the Falesti town, financed by the European Union, have recently held a meeting to update the action plan.
According to the North Regional Development Agency (ADR Nord), the participants in the meeting presented the activities of the implementation plan for the next period and the project’s progress report for 2020. The CDL members discussed on the report and took note of the activities within the project, Involved citizens – developed communities – quality services. At the same time, the participants in the meeting unveiled the project titled, Empowerment of citizens in Moldova. ‘’As a result, the updated regulation of CDL was approved and the composition of the Committee was reconfirmed,’’ ADR Nord said.
CDL’s goal is to provide solutions to the problems which might appear during the project’s implementation, enhancing the responsibility of the sides involved locally.
On 1 March, the works of rehabilitation and extension of the water supply system started within a project implemented by ADR Nord and financed by the European Union.
Following the project’s implementation, the water supply networks of the Falesti town will be extended by 2.4 km and 2.6 km of feed pipe will be constructed. Over 15,000 residents of the Falesti town will be connected to the water supply system. Under the construction contract, signed in late November 2020, the works on improvement of the water supply services in the Falesti town are to be carried out during ten calendar months. The value of this contract is 35.49 million lei, of which 3.31 million lei represents the co-financing of the Falesti mayoralty.
The investment measure, Improving the water supply services in the Falesti town, is financed by the European Union, in cooperation with the project, Modernization of Local Public Services in Moldova. The project is implemented by the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ Moldova), in partnership with the Agriculture, Regional Development and Environment Ministry and the German Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development.
