Two regional projects improved living conditions for Străşeni residents
Chisinau, Dec. 5 /MOLDPRES/- Two regional projects, completed last year in Străşeni district have improved the living conditions for residents. This conclusion was reached by specialists of the Centre Regional Development Agency (ADR Centru), who monitored the commitments by the beneficiaries of regional development projects, focusing on ensuring the sustainability of investments.
One of the projects subject to monitoring concerns the modernization of Străseni-Voinova road section, implemented by ADR Centre in 2018-2022, and which had a significant impact on the road infrastructure in the region. "The works carried out in the outskirts of the towns of Ghelăuza, Recea, Zubrești, Chirianca and Voinova, Strășeni district, included the rehabilitation and modernization of over 10 km of road. The financing of the project, in a total amount of over 90.3 million lei (4.51 million euros), was provided from the National Fund for Regional and Local Development, as well as from the sources of the Road Fund through the State Road Administration. The efforts made were aimed at improving traffic conditions and security for over 32,400 residents of Străseni district, 80 economic agents from the Central Region, residents of the Industrial Park and the Free Economic Zone in Străseni, and approximately 100 agricultural producers from the area" , ADR Center said.
Another project refers to the energy efficiency of the Ion Vatamanu Theoretical High School in Străseni. "This was possible thanks to the financial support granted by the European Union, having a significant impact on the study environment, ensuring a more comfortable climate for the more than 650 students and improved working conditions for teachers and auxiliary staff. The total value of the energy efficiency works was about 1.3 million euros, of which 1.2 million euros were offered by the EU as a non-refundable grant and 100,000 euros - local contribution", according to the quoted source.
At the same time, so far, the photovoltaic system has not been put into operation, a redesign of the high school's electricity connection documentation is needed.
Beneficiaries of regional development projects have the responsibility to inform ADR Centre about the measures to ensure sustainability for a period of three years after the completion of the investment. The maintenance plan is approved by the District Council and subject to monitoring by the agency, in order to ensure best conditions for the inhabitants of the region.
