Chisinau, 28 July /MOLDPRES/ - Six fine artists have created sculptural compositions in wood in the park from the Cojusna village, central Straseni district, within the first sculpture camp, ”Dialoguri cojușnene” (Cojusna Dialogues), recently held in this settlement.

It is about sculptures by Iurie Platon, Valentin Vartosu, Alexei Vodrasco, Mihai Lazar, Radu Granaci and Mihai Damian. The camp was organized by fine arts teachers of the Cojusna Art Centre, Teodora and Vasile Hubenco.

Contacted by MOLDPRES, Teodora Hubenco said that the idea to hold this camp had been taken over from Ungheni, where the fine artists carried out more editions. ‘’Last year, some trees were cut at the brink of the road from the settlement for heating; yet, we ruled to give them a new life. And we got the idea to organize a sculpture camp. Thus, six modern sculptures were made, different as form, concept and content. The original style of the author is noticed in each work. The works are placed in a form of circle, as if they are speaking to each other, as well as with visitors. We hope that this park will become a place of dating for lovers, where they will be able to create new families, as well as for other visitors. At the same time, we hope that the camp Cojusna Dialogues 2018 will have continuity, if not each year, then once in two years and it could become an international camp, to which sculptors from other countries will be invited as well,’’ Teodora Hubenco said.

In the context, teacher Vasile Hubenco said that the people from the village had no time to go to exhibitions and museums and then he decided along with his wife to create an art gallery in open air.

For his part, sculptor Iurie Platon, who is settled in Germany, said that he had accepted with pleasure the invitation to make a public work in Cojusna. ‘’There are public spaces which should be arranged. We have made works at other sculpture camps too and I am happy to find out that visitors appreciate them, especially in a rural settlement,’’ Platon stressed.

The sculpture camp Cojusna Dialogues was backed by the Cojusna mayoralty, economic agents and residents of the settlement.
