Chisinau, 29 November /MOLDPRES/ - Private people must declare the sums exceeding 10,000 euros or its equivalent in customs. The money is to be declared in written form, by filling in the typed form DV-6, where the sum, its origin and purpose will be indicated.

According to the Customs Service, the typed form TV-28 will be released based on this declaration. The declaring of the sum exceeding 10,000 euros is valid also at the exit from Moldova; in this case, the sum taken out of the country cannot exceed 50,000 euros or its equivalent.

The conversion in lei or other currencies is made according to the official exchange rate of the Moldovan leu, established by the National Bank of Moldova (BNM),  valid on the day of crossing the state border.

Thus, to take out of Moldova sums worth from 10,000 euros up to 50,000 euros, people must present customs acts which confirm the introduction of the financial means (TV-28 form) and/or permission for taking out the currency, released by licenced banks and/or an authorization for taking out the financial means, released by BNM.

The money declared is not taxed; yet, if cash money exceeding 10,000 euros is discovered, the people who did not declare it will be sanctioned contraventionally or will be punished under the criminal code and the undeclared difference can be confiscated.

People should also know that the sending of money through mail parcels or unaccompanied luggage is not allowed.
