Chisinau, 9 September /MOLDPRES/ - The Dubasari Law Centre has recorded more social and economic problems in settlements of eastern Dubasari district. The centre’s director, Iurie Vidru, made public the problems at a news conference today.

„The most serious problem of residents from villages consists in the violation of the right to free movement. It is about especially the villages of Cocieri, Molovata Noua and Corjova, which can use only the bridge of boats for various activities, which means additional spending and time,” Iurie Vidru said.

At the same time, the director of the Dubasari-based Law Centre noted that more residents from the left bank of Dniester, with OK acts which confirm the citizenship of Moldova, cannot access loans on the right bank of Dniester, ”on grounds that they would not have a stable job.” Or, according to Vidru, this would be another pressing problem for the residents of the region. “The lack of jobs has created an entire system of unregistered labour market and this means that people permanently face the fact that they are not remunerated, are deceived and manipulated,” Iurie Vidru said.

The director of the Dubasari Law Centre enumerated more cases of infringement of human rights, stressing that they cannot be solved by the local authorities and the intervention of central administration institutions is needed. “We cooperate with the Dubasari district’s authorities; yet, the cases we have registered at the Law Centre cannot be settled locally and the support of the national structures is necessary,” Iurie Vidru told MOLDPRES.

In the context, Iurie Vidru asked for the involvement especially of law-enforcement bodies and the ones of Prosecutor General’s Office, as well as of the Health, Labour and Social Protection Ministry.

The Dubasari Law Centre is a public association in the sector of defence of human rights and democratic values; the centre is successor of the regional association from the left bank of Dniester for human rights, set up in 2004.
