Workers from Moldovan capital prepare equipment for snow clearance interventions

Chisinau, 08 October /MOLDPRES/ – The preparation work for the snow clearing equipment in the capital is under way. The employees of Exdrupo give assurances that they will be prepared to intervene with the first snowfalls.

Interviewed by agency, director of Exdrupo, Marcel Zastinceanu, has stated that there are 76 technical units in endowment of company. Similarly, by the end of 2019, the authorities of Chisinau municipality will still purchase 03 more multifunctional engineering units, which will be used for snow removal, as well. For these, the municipality spent over MDL 05 mln. "The transport department conducted the auction and I think that by the end of this year, the new units will be already on spot," said Zastinceanu.

Also, the head of Exdrupo said that the company has stored 2,000 tonnes of non – slip material, and another about 12,000 tonnes have been contracted and they will be delivered. And this year, as a non – slip material, it will be used a mixture of sand and salt.

"If the total quantity of 14,000 tonnes of non – slip material are not be enough for the whole cold period, then we shall still buy along the way, depending on how heavy it will be the winter. In 2017 – 2018, there were used 13,000 tonnes of non – slip material, and last winter we used 18,000 tonnes," said the source.

Asked if Exdrupo has enough employees to carry out the snow removal work, Zastinceanu said that the company especially needs mechanisers, but by the beginning of the cold period of the year, it will be filled the vacant positions.
