Jewish Cemetery from Chisinau to be under video supervision

Chisinau, 5 November /MOLDPRES/ - The Education, Culture and Research Ministry (MECC) instructed the setting of a system of video supervision, to ensure the security of the area of the Jewish Cemetery from Moldova’s capital, after the vandalizing and profaning of 82 graves.
The Jewish Cemetery represents a monument of national historical category, registered in the register of Moldova’s monuments protected by the state, with the number 189, Cemetery with complex of monuments.
The Chisinau municipal police opened a criminal file on this case, in order to establish all circumstances and the perpetrators who committed this offence.
The Jewish Cemetery is one of the oldest cemeteries from Chisinau. It is a historical and art monument of national category, placed on the Milano Street, Buiucani district. It has been functioning since 1887. The cemetery is supposed to have between 24 thousand and 40 thousand graves.
