Chisinau, 11 February /MOLDPRES/ - President Maia Sandu today had a meeting with Prime Minister of Romania Nicolae Ciuca, the presidential press service has reported.

The head of state welcomed the excellent result of the joint meeting of the governments from Chisinau and Bucharest, during which 13 important agreements and protocols were signed. Maia Sandu noted that the meeting was another proof of the special relation Moldova has with Romania. ‘’I appreciated the fact that the two governments managed to prepare concrete projects for people, in less than three months after the signing of the roadmap during my visit to Bucharest. Our goal is to strengthen this relation on the rise, for the benefit of both countries and of our citizens,’’ Maia Sandu said.

At the discussion, the Moldovan president thanked Romania for the support provided in the process of the country’s modernization. She welcomed, in particular, the signing of the agreement on the non-refundable financial assistance worth 100 million euros. ‘’With the help of Romania, we will continue to strengthen our energy independence, will invest in the national and local infrastructure, in cultural and educational programmes,’’ the head of state added.
