Chisinau, 16 July /MOLDPRES/ - The Education and Research Ministry (MEC) on 15 July published a report on the implementation, in the first half of 2022, of the sectoral anticorruption plan in the education sector for 2022-2023. The document provides for the strengthening of the efforts as regards the prevention and combating of corruption, as well as the improvement of the access to information and ensuring the transparency in the decision-making process.

According to the ministry, trainings/campaigns of informing managers, teachers, pupils and students about the integrity rigours, as well as other activities were organized in the reporting time interval.

„The work of the ethics councils, the promotion of integrity and anticorruption education, the denunciation and sanctioning of cases of infringement of the teacher’s ethics code remain priority for MEC. The education system institutions benefited from the support of the National Anticorruption Centre in the carrying out of the activities as regards the strengthening of integrity and promotion of the integrity standards in the society, through the prevention and combating of informal payments and corrupting teachers,’’ the Education Ministry said.

The sectoral plan for 2022-2023 provides for continuing the carrying out of the actions with permanent term of implementation or inclusion of new actions according to the priorities earlier established in the anticorruption sectoral plan in the education field for 2018-2020, approved under government decision. Thus, the new actions fit into the list of priorities set in the previous plan, as well as completes the already carried out actions, in order to make more efficient and full the achievement of the goal of integrity and lack of tolerance to the corruption phenomenon in the education system.
