DOC Moldovan electoral body decision on date of general local elections published in Official Journal

Chisinau, July 13. /MOLDPRES/- Central Electoral Commission (CEC) decision on date of the general local elections was published today in the Official Journal.

According to the document, the voting will take place on November 5. The decision will enter into force on August 7, when the electoral period will also begin.

The electoral campaign will start on the date of registration of the electoral contestants, but not earlier than 30 days before the voting day.

In the following period, the CEC will set and approve the calendar program for carrying out the actions of organizing and conducting the general local elections, which will include the actions for the organization of the poll, the deadlines, as well as the persons responsible for each action starting from the competences of the main subjects involved in the electoral process.

The last general local elections were held on October 20, 2019. The local representatives' mandate is four years.
