Three villages of Floreşti district provided with drinking water from Dniester river

Chisinau, July 13. /MOLDPRES/- Drinking water from the Dniester river reached the communes of Iliciovca, Sevirova, Trifănești and Izvoare, Florești district. From this month, 22 public institutions, 52 economic agents and about 6,000 inhabitants of these rural localities will benefit from the new water supply and sanitation system, the Regional Development Agency (ADR) North has reported.

The construction-assembly works to connect these rural localities to the main Soroca-Bălți aqueduct were executed within a regional development project implemented by ADR Nord from the sources of the National Fund for Regional and Local Development (FNDRL).

According to ADR Nord director Maria Prisacari, this is a vital project for six villages that are part of the mentioned communes. "It is a logical continuation of a similar project that we previously implemented from national sources, but also with the support of Switzerland. In the North Regional Operational Program for 2022-2024, the expansion and improvement of water infrastructure is a priority direction through which we aim to increase territorial cohesion", she said.

Following the implementation of the project Water for life in the Northern Region: Florești and Soroca 2 districts, 16.8 km of main aqueduct networks, 53.1 km of internal aqueduct networks, 7 water castles, 1 drinking water pumping station were built. The value of the project is 35.9 million lei (about 1.8 million euros), allocated from the FNDRL.
