Former Prime Minister Natalia Gavriliţa to run for member of National Bank Supervisory Board

Chisinau, July 14. /MOLDPRES/- Former Prime Minister of the Republic of Moldova Natalia Gavriliţa said today that she has decided to apply for the position of member of the Supervisory Board of the National Bank.
"I believe that my experience and skills will be particularly useful in this position. I have decided to dedicate myself from now on to the economic development of our country from a technical position, but very important for the macro-financial stability of the Republic of Moldova", the official said.
Gavriliţa explained that if she passes the contest, she will be obliged by law to renounce any political affiliation, including suspending her membership of PAS.
"It's a hard decision that I'm taking. At the same time, I will continue to stay with the citizens, ensuring that the activity of the National Bank is as efficient, transparent and credible as possible", Gavriliţa said.
The government led by Natalia Gavrilița operated from August 2021 to February 2023. Previously, in the Executive led by Maia Sandu, she served as Minister of Finance.
