Moldovan, American officials addressed current issues

Chisinau, July 14. /MOLDPRES/- In Washington, Speaker Igor Grosu discussed with US Senators Markwayne Mullin, Ben Cardin, Roger Wicker and Ted Budd about the development and consolidation of Moldovan-American relations, the parliament's communication and public relations department has reported.

The official said that American assistance and expertise are useful in strengthening democratic institutions, fighting high-level corruption, advancing justice reform and improving investment climate.

Other issues were related to developments in the region and the parliamentary agenda. "I express my gratitude for the support from the United States of America in reforming and modernizing the Republic of Moldova", he said.

Grosu is on a working visit to the USA on July 11-15.
