Moldovan parliament makes amendments to Fiscal Code

Chisinau, 31 July /MOLDPRES/ - The return of the taxes to the economic agents of the Gagauz autonomous unit will be made from the budget of the autonomous territorial unit, within the limit of the revenues available. The parliament adopted a draft on amendment of the Fiscal Code in the first reading today.      

Under the mechanism suggested, the sums non-covered for return will be compensated through transfers on special purpose from the state budget, in the way established by the legislation.

According to the informative note to the draft law, an analysis of the situation found out that the sums of the value added tax (VAT), returned from the state budget, are continuously increasing and in the last five years alone, the state budget reimbursed more than 640 million lei as VAT sum to UTA Gagauzia. Respectively, the legislative initiative filed will ensure the observance of the principle of fiscal equity between Moldova’s settlements.    

The legislative amendment is to enter into force on the date of its publication in Moldova’s Official Journal (Monitorul Oficial).
