PHOTO Moldova presents exhibition - in Iasi

Chisinau, Nov. 11 /MOLDPRES/- About 50 entrepreneurs from our country exhibited their products and services during the 5th edition of Moldova presents exhibition, which was inaugurated on Friday in Iași, Romania. Residents and guests of the city will be able to visit the exhibition until November 12.

At the event, the Moldovan companies presented the best quality products for the consumers of Iași, including pies, wines, honey and bee products, fruits, tea, spices, breakfast cereals, clothing items, bags and even unique creations of folk craftsmen.

The President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Moldova, Sergiu Harea, said that its aim is to develop, promote and consolidate the economic and commercial relations between Moldova and Romania, as well as to encourage the competitiveness of products and services, by creating a platform for discussions and presentation of cooperation opportunities. "Iași was the gateway through which entrepreneurs from the Republic of Moldova entered the European market and in this case the Romanian one. It is an event that highlights the best of what we have in Moldova in different fields of activity. From one edition to another, we come to Iași much more eager to present Moldovan products and services, much more qualitative and competitive. The presence of a large number of Moldovan companies - participants in the exhibition, is an additional proof of the good neighborly relations that link the Republic of Moldova and Romania", Harea said.

Iași mayor Mihai Chirica said "we have a history that we created together and later maintain until today". "The Republic of Moldova has a working economy, it knows how to make quality products, which are compatible with European tastes and standards. I hope to see Moldova integrated into the European community as soon as possible", said Chirica.

Consul General of the Republic of Moldova in Iasi Ion Coșer said that Iasi has always been a point of support, an ally and a friend. "Whether we are talking about cross-border projects, SMURD, gas pipeline, commercial-economic cooperation, cultural projects - they all started here, from Iași. Romania is Moldova's number one trade partner, and the event we have today will increase trade exchanges even more in the coming years", Ion Coșer said.

President of the Iași Chamber of Commerce and Industry Paul Butnariu said that Iași opens the door in terms of the access of good quality products from the Republic of Moldova to the Romanian and European markets. "We want such events to have continuity, to promote the encouragement of Moldovan entrepreneurs", quoted source said.

Among the producers present at the exhibition is also the founder of a winery from the Republic of Moldova, Nicolae Olarașu. He chose the most select wines to present to the Romanian public. The entrepreneur states that he has previously been to such events organized in other cities in Romania, and the products made in Moldova are appreciated and expected by the Romanian consumer, as they are of high quality and have a special taste. "Such events are welcome for small producers because we have the opportunity to contact the consumer directly and to establish business partners in Romania", said Nicolae Olarașu.

Victoria Sobol together with her family owns an apiary in Bravicea village, Călărași district. The entrepreneur brought honey to the exhibition and says that the most important thing that defines products made in Moldova is quality. Victoria Sobol added that the exhibition is an opportunity to promote Moldovan products and establish new partnerships.

The event is organized in Iași by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Moldova, with the support of partners Iași City Hall, Iași Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Investment Agency of Moldova, Organization for Entrepreneurship Development, Palas Iași.

The exhibition "Republic of Moldova presents" is a design of the national exhibition "Made in Moldova", held at the beginning of each year in Chisinau. This was also organized in other cities in Romania, including Ploiesti, Brașov, Baia Mare, Cluj-Napoca.
