Moldovan PM says Moldova creates conditions for attracting investors, developing economy according to European model

Chisinau, 16 November /MOLDPRES/ - The consolidation of the Moldovan-Austrian economic cooperation and the attraction of Austrian investments in Moldova today were discussed at a meeting of Prime Minister Dorin Recean and President of Austria Alexander Van der Bellen, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.

The PM expressed gratitude for the support and solidarity of Austria, showed by concrete projects, which contribute to the improvement of the living standards of Moldova’s citizens. At the same time, PM Dorin Recean stressed the importance of maintaining a consolidated relation between Moldova and Austria through the attraction of Austrian investors in the national economy and development of new businesses in sectors with high value added.   

„Moldova provides numerous opportunities in diverse fields, beginning with the wines’ industry up to the segment of information technologies. We make sustained efforts, in order to create the best conditions for investors – we increase the national economy and ensure a sustainable development of the country, according to the European model,’’ Prime Minister Dorin Recean said.  

The prime minister also welcomed the holding of the Moldova-Austria business forum in Chisinau on 15-17 November. The event brought together 20 Austrian entrepreneurs, including in the sector of renewable energy and green infrastructure, interested in investing in Moldova. Presently, there are 92 enterprises with Austrian capital in Moldova and Austria ranks tenth among the principal foreign investors in the country.      

For his part, the president of Austria confirmed his interest in the increase in the number of Austrian investors who choose Moldova as destination point. At the same time, the official said that Austria firmly supported the processes of Moldova’s transformation and the efforts made by the Moldovan authorities on the country’s European integration way.
