Chisinau, 17 November /MOLDPRES/ - The Moldovan-Czech cooperation in the military sector was discussed by Defence Minister Anatolie Nosatii and Defence Minister of the Czech Republic Jana Černochová. The two officials today had a meeting, during a visit paid by the Czech minister.

The two ministers discussed the advancement of the bilateral relations in the military sector, the assistance provided for the modernization of the National Army and consolidation of Moldova’s defence capacities, as well as the efforts undertaken to maintain the national and regional peace and stability.

At the meeting, Minister Anatolie Nosatii expressed thanks to Mrs. Černochová for having accepted the invitation to come to Chisinau, in order to continue the discussions on subjects of common interest, started in Prague in last April, at the first meeting of the two defence ministers.

Defence Minister Anatolie Nosatii stressed that ‘’this visit is a clear message that the Czech Republic remains unconditionally a reliable strategic partner, defender of Moldova’s interests abroad, a backer of the democratic reforms and of the desideratum of the National Army’s modernization.’’

For her part, Minister Jana Černochová said that Moldova was a country with high priority for the Czech Republic, with which it develops cooperation relations, including in the security and defence sector. ‘’The recent inauguration of the Office of the Defence Attache in Chisinau proves this. The mission of the office is to ensure the deepening of our partnership. This is also one of the reasons for which I am in Chisinau today,’’ Jana Černochová said.

The Czech official also appreciated the bilateral collaboration in combating the misinformation.

Other subjects on the agenda of discussions regarded the support provided to train the strength of the National Army in various fields, such as: medicine, logistics, engineering, as well as the contribution to the training of inferior commandants with the help of the British Military Advisory Training Team (BMATT (CZ), with headquarters in Vyskov, the Czech Republic.

Also today, the two defence ministers participated in a ceremony on the unveiling of the Monument dedicated to the Heroes of Czechoslovakia from the Memorial Complex, The Cemetery of Heroes, renovated with the assistance of financial sources provided by the Czech Republic.
