Chisinau, Nov. 20 /MOLDPRES/- Promo-LEX mission presented today the preliminary results of the parallel counting of votes for mayor of Bălți. Promo-LEX program director Nicolae Panfil said that the results show "non-essential differences", which "were not able to affect the voting results".

"The parallel counting of the vote for the position of mayor of Balti municipality reveals non-essential differences of a few dozen votes between the candidates, a difference of approximately 47 votes found by Promolex compared to the data of the Central Electoral Commission. All 60 reports of the polling stations in Balti municipality were processed. Two erroneous reports have been received. These errors were not able to affect the results of the votes", said Panfil.

He also referred to the incidents reported by observers yesterday. "Polling stations mostly opened on time, without incident and without problematic situations. However, there were 18 cases when they opened a little earlier or a little later than 07.00, but these situations somehow did not affect the voters' rights. At the same time, there was a case in which the polling station closed earlier or later with a little time than 9:00 p.m. as stipulated by the law," the cited source said.

Among the most frequent recorded incidents are the unjustified presence of unauthorized persons in the polling station or within a 100 m radius, violation of the secrecy of the vote, interruption of the filming process, deficiencies in the electoral lists, organized transport of voters.

Runoff election was held in Moldova on November 19. Promo-LEX delegated static observers in 175 polling stations, out of the total of 620 open stations. Another 445 polling stations will be covered by the 50 mobile teams of the Observation Mission.
