CNA detained Balti doctor for corruption

Chisinau, Nov. 20 /MOLDPRES/-Chief physician of Balti Perinatological Center was detained by the CNA for passive corruption. He would have asked for 7,000 lei for assisting a birth.

According to the CNA, the doctor was reported to the Northern Territorial General Directorate of the CNA by a citizen who communicated that the Hospital employee had asked him for a bribe. According to the whistleblower, the doctor would have claimed 7,000 lei for providing quality medical services and ensuring an appropriately assisted birth for his wife.

Yesterday, the employees of the DGT North of the CNA together with the prosecutors caught red-handed the doctor when sending the last installment of 5,000 lei. Currently, the suspect is detained for 72 hours.
