Over 5,500 books donated as part of Library under Christmas Tree initiative, launched by Moldovan government

Chisinau, 12 Jan. /MOLDPRES/- Over 5,500 books were donated by hundreds of people as part of the Library under Christmas Tree initiative, launched by the government for the second year in a row. Prime Minister Dorin Recean unveiled the data.

The premier said that all the donated books will reach kindergartens and school libraries throughout the country.

"The initiative gathered hundreds of nice and generous people, who donated over 5,500 books that will reach kindergartens and school libraries across the country. I thank all those who contributed - the teams from the ministries, chancellery and public institutions, representatives of bookstores and people who were in solidarity with our call", said Recean.

The initiative is part of Come Home for Christmas campaign in which a lot of events are organized to promote national culture in all regions of the country: local fairs, traditional craft exhibitions, concerts with local artists or interactive workshops to promote community traditions.
