Moldovan writer celebrates 80th birth anniversary
Chisinau, Dec. 7 / MOLDPRES /-Poet and translator Ion Vieru, holder of the honorary title Master of Literature turned 80 today.
Ion Vieru is a member of the Writers 'Union of Moldova (1972) and a member of the Writers' Union of Romania (1996).In 1996 and 2005, he was awarded the prize of the weekly Literature and Art, in 1998 - the prize of the Cultural League of Romanians Everywhere for the volume of poems "Here on Earth" and in 1999 - with the honorary title Master of Literature.
