
Customs Service collected over 638 million lei last week
Chisinau, June 26. /MOLDPRES/- On June 19-25, the Customs Service collected over 638.7 million lei (about 31.9 million euros) to the state budget.
Private people introduced goods whose customs value exceeded the non-taxable limit, and payments totaling over 18.2 million lei were collected, which represents 2.8% of the total amount. The money collected from taxpayers is paid directly into the state budget and redistributed for salaries, infrastructure development, social projects, etc.
The past week, 12,016 customs declarations were completed, and the flow of means of transport was 78,486 crossings. The most transited customs posts remain Leușeni and Sculeni, with 20,200 and 15,085 crossings, respectively.
In the fight against fraud, 74 violations of customs legislation were found and fines of over 239 thousand lei were applied.
Since the beginning of the current year, the Customs Service has collected about 15.7 billion lei to the state budget, up by 4.9% compared to the same period last year.
