The Republic of Moldova is participating for the first time with a national pavilion at China International Import Expo (CIIE), one of the most important international exhibitions dedicated to trade and imports, held in Shanghai from November 5 to 10 this year.

The Republic of Moldova’s pavilion, covering an area of 132 m², is organized under the concept From Moldova. To the Whole World, promoting the export offering of domestic products and services on the Chinese market. The visual identity of the space highlights the country brand Tree of Life, showcasing the diversity and economic potential of the Republic of Moldova. The pavilion’s concept is aligned with the visual identity of the country brand and promotes the Republic of Moldova through three main areas: wine, tourism, and cosmetics.

According to the organizers, participating for the first time with a national pavilion represents an important step in promoting domestic products and strengthening Moldovan-Chinese trade relations.

The pavilion is located in Hall 5.2H, booth 5.2A6-01, at the National Exhibition and Convention Center (NECC) in Shanghai, in the area dedicated to national exhibitions.

The Investment Agency told MOLDPRES that the space incorporates visual materials adapted to the country brand, while the pavilion’s screens display official materials from the digital platform www.moldova.md, which is part of the toolkit for the international promotion of the Republic of Moldova. These materials present the country’s economy, tourism, culture, and economic opportunities in a unified visual format.

Ambassador of the Republic of Moldova to the People’s Republic of China Petru Frunze said that the Republic of Moldova’s participation in the exhibition provides an opportunity to promote the country’s domestic products and commercial and investment potential, as well as to establish new partnerships with international importers, distributors, and investors.

At this year’s edition, five Moldovan companies and ten Chinese importers of wines from the Republic of Moldova are promoting domestic products from the wine, agri-food, and cosmetics sectors and exploring new opportunities for commercial cooperation. The participation of importers already active on the Chinese market contributes to strengthening existing relations and developing new distribution channels.

At the same time, the pavilion includes a section dedicated to promoting the Republic of Moldova as a tourist destination, highlighting its cultural and natural heritage, as well as the potential of wine and gastronomic tourism.

Eugeniu Osmochescu, Minister of Agriculture and Food Industry and Claudiu-Iulius-Gavril Năsui, Minister of Economic Development and Digitalization along with other officials from the Republic of Moldova, attended the official opening ceremony of CIIE 2026. On this occasion, the officials visited the national pavilion and held discussions with Chinese importers and distributors, reaffirming the Moldovan authorities’ support for developing trade relations between the two countries.

China International Import Expo has reached its ninth edition and brings together representatives from more than 160 countries, regions, and international organizations, offering Moldovan companies opportunities for promotion, direct contacts with importers and distributors, and the identification of new partnerships.
