Moldovan farmers to benefit from consultancy in organic agriculture
Chisinau, 30 June /MOLDPRES/- Moldovan farmers will be able to benefit on 30 June -14 July from free advice on application of green fertilizers, as well as crop rotation. To this end, two US experts will be visiting the Republic of Moldova through the US Agency for International Development (USAID) Farmer-to-Farmer Volunteer Program.
According to the organizers, one of the trainers is Bruce Williams, as a horticultural teacher with extensive experience in several related fields and will be in the country on 30 June- 14 July. "He will consult the producers in the application of green fertilizers. The expert provided similar assistance in 2020, and now the purpose of his mission is to contribute to the improvement of existing experience and the effective application of this practice, relatively new for Moldovan farmers, " a release of CNFA (Cultivating New Frontiers in Agriculture) Moldova reads.
The second volunteer, Seth Urbanowitz, is qualified as an agronomist in the rural area and will be in our country on 1-14 July. He will focus on the application of a pocket guide on crop rotation in organic farming, previously developed for Moldovan farmers, and will provide advice on implementation of best practices in the field.
The assistance is intended primarily for organic producers, members of the Employers' Association Moldova Organic Value Chain Alliance (MOVCA), as well as the Institute Selection in Balti. Consultancy can also be provided individually upon request, depending on the work schedule of the volunteers.
