
Wizz Air Company reopens operational base in Moldova, launches eight new routes at Chisinau International Airport
Chisinau, 17 October /MOLDPRES/ - The Wizz Air Company reopens its operational base in Moldova and launches eight new routes from the Chisinau International Airport to six cities from Germany, Italy, France and Belgium. The flights will be made as of 16 December 2024 and the tickets prices start from 24.99 euros.
The destinations concerned are: Berlin, Dortmund, Memmingen, Nuremberg from Germany; Verona and Bologna from Italy; Paris, France and Brussels, Belgium. The flights will be made twice-thrice per week.
„We continue to increase the number of direct flights from the Chisinau International Airport. Our citizens will be able to travel more and the Diaspora will be able to easier return home. Pleasant travels to everybody,’’ Infrastructure and Regional Development Minister Andrei Spinu said.
The state secretary at the Infrastructure and Regional Development Ministry (MIDR), Mircea Pascaluta, said that the reopening of the Wizz Air’s operational base on the Chisinau International Airport (AIC) ‘’proves the clear confidence on behalf of international operators that AIC turns to accounts its entire potential and we move towards the enhancement of the confidence of the air operators, in order to ensure our citizens’ connectivity with the European cities.’’
Pascaluta noted that, on the last period, ten air companies had come or returned, in order to make flights from the Chisinau International Airport, ‘’which confirms not only the safety of our air space, but also the fact that our market is continuously expanding.’’
The Wizz Air low-cost company in late 2023 informed that it returned to Moldova.
