
MPs submitted 147 legislative initiatives to Parliament in spring session
In the spring session of 2025, 315 legislative initiatives were submitted to Parliament. About 70% of them, meaning 222 acts, were adopted.
According to the parliament's communication and public relations department, most of the legislative initiatives submitted, totaling 147, belong to deputies. The government submitted 138 draft normative acts, and President of the Republic of Moldova Maia Sandu proposed 28 legislative initiatives. The People's Assembly of Gagauzia submitted two proposals for normative acts.
During the spring session, deputies of the Action and Solidarity Party faction proposed 80 legislative initiatives and 205 amendments. In plenary sessions, PAS parliamentarians also supported 101 speeches and 29 declarations.
Deputies of the Communists and Socialists Bloc faction submitted 49 legislative initiatives and 30 amendments. Additionally, BCS deputies supported 76 speeches and two declarations during plenary sessions. BCS parliamentarians submitted seven simple motions, three of which were rejected, and four were not examined by Parliament.
Statistics show that unaffiliated and independent deputies were the authors of eight draft normative acts and one amendment. They also supported 13 speeches and two declarations.
According to the Constitution, the right to legislative initiative is held by deputies, the President of the Republic of Moldova, the Government, and the People's Assembly of the autonomous territorial unit of Gagauzia.
