European officials expected in Chisinau for 16th meeting of Parliamentary Association Committee

Parliament of the Republic of Moldova will host the 16th meeting of Moldova-European Union Parliamentary Association Committee (PAC) on 5 December. The event will be co-chaired by the Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee for European Integration, Marcel Spatari, and MEP Siegfried Mureșan.

According to the parliament's communication and public relations department, the meeting agenda includes discussions on Moldova's EU accession negotiations, regional security situation, and strengthening the country's capacity to handle hybrid warfare.

At the end of the meeting, the two co-chairs will hold a press conference scheduled for Friday, December 5, at 12:00 PM.

The European Parliament delegation, led by Siegfried Mureșan, will also have a series of high-level meetings with President of the Republic of Moldova Maia Sandu, Prime Minister Alexandru Munteanu and Deputy Speaker Doina Gherman. It also includes discussions with Secretary of State of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Carolina Perebinos, EU member state ambassadors and representatives of civil society, media and human rights activists.

The European delegation includes MEPs Maria Grapini, Jonas Sjöstedt, Liudas Mažylis, Krzysztof Brejza, and Dan Barna, along with Head of the EU Delegation to Moldova Iwona Piórko, and Head of the European Parliament Antenna for Eastern Partnership Anca-Maria Simion-Neagoe.

The RM-EU PAC represents the parliamentary forum of the Association Agreement between the Republic of Moldova and the European Union and meets twice a year, Chisinau and Brussels.
