Citizens entitled to vote who have changed their place of residence since the last elections can declare their new residence at the local public administration office so that they can vote where they actually live in the election on 28 September.
Declarations can be submitted by 3 September 2025.
"Have you moved to another locality? Announce your new place of residence by 3 September to be able to vote there!" government spokesperson Daniel Vodă said.
The declaration concerning the new place of residence can be submitted at the town hall or local office.
"Thus, you will be able to vote at your actual place of residence, and the old registration will be automatically deleted. For example, if someone who previously lived in the city of Hâncești has moved to Buiucani sector of the capital and this person wants to vote in Buiucani sector and not go back to Hâncești for voting, then that person must address and announce, declare the new residence to the competent authority," emphasized Daniel Vodă.
According to the Central Electoral Commission, when submitting the declaration, the voter will present an identity document for confirmation. The registrar will make the necessary entries in the State Voters Register and will issue a receipt confirming the declaration of the new place of residence.
The submitted declaration is valid only for a single election. Thus, declarations submitted for previous elections are not valid.
Parliamentary elections will be organized on 28 September 2025.
