
Over 60 searches carried out in file on corrupting voters; four people detained in Moldova
Chisinau, 1 November /MOLDPRES/ - The law-enforcers have made over 60 searches in the districts of Hancesti, Stefan Voda, Bender, Cahul, Nisporeni, Soroca, Edinet, Rascani, Drochia, UTA Gagauzia and Donduseni, based on more criminal files opened on deeds of illegal financing and electoral corruption, according to a press release by the Police.
The actions were carried out by the specialized and territorial subdivisions of the General Police Inspectorate and the National Anticorruption Centre, in coordination with the Prosecutor General’s Office and the Anticorruption Prosecutor’s Office.
„Within the criminal prosecution actions, policemen found out that the members of the Shor crime ring and of the Victoria (Victory) political bloc had been nominated as ‘’leaders’’ in the settlements of residence, having the task to corrupt voters at the presidential elections. Thus, each ‘’leader’’ has the task to lure tens of people who were to receive financial compensations or other material assets,’’ a communique of the Police reads.
Law-enforcers made searches at the concerned people, as a result of which they confiscated a vehicle, financial means in large amounts, meant for being distributed to ‘’activists’’ and voters, lists with backers, copies of passports which show trips to Russia for taking funds, articles with unauthorized symbols (undershirts, calendars, folders, watches, etc.) with pictures of members of the Shor crime ring., as well as unauthorized and unregistered arms and ammunitions, party member cards, bills which confirm bank transfers through the mobile application of the commercial bank Promsveazybank” (PSB), mobile phones. computers, hard disks, information bearers (contact numbers, PSB bank accounts, transfers in Russian roubles), banners, papers, SIM cards and other conclusive evidence which confirm the involvement in committing of the offence.
