
Moldova wins title of Balkan judo champion in mixed team event
The Republic of Moldova has become Balkan judo champion in U18 mixed team event.
The national team athletes climbed to the top of the podium in the Balkan Championship, after defeating representatives from Romania, Turkey, Bosnia, and Herzegovina.
Besides success in the team competition, Moldovan judokas also achieved excellent results in the individual contest, winning a total of 14 medals: eight gold, four silver, and two bronze medals.
Balkan champions include Gabriela Herța, Artiom Rotasniuc, Nelu Malic, Alexandra Chiron, Maria Rusu, Madina Duminică, Dragoș Răileanu, and Cătălin Pleșca.
Balkan vice-champions are Marius Minzat, Xenia Vainer, Alexandru Marandici, and Ivan Rotașniuc, while the bronze medalists are Ovidiu Grancescu and Alexandru Sargheliu.
The Balkan Championship (U18) took place in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The participation of the national team was made possible with financial support from the Ministry of Education and Research.
