Parliament Speaker Igor Grosu has congratulated the coaches of Moldova on Coach’s Day, marked in Moldova for the first time on September 25.
“Congratulations, dear coaches from Moldova! Today, September 25, Moldova is celebrating Coach’s Day for the first time,” Igor Grosu said.
The parliament speaker praised the coaches’ work and their role not only in training sportspeople, but also in shaping their character.
“Continue creating sportspeople and nice characters. Respect and admiration for your work!” Igor Grosu added.
Approximately 1,400 female and male coaches work in the country’s 104 public sports schools, training around 35,000 sportspeople. They are joined by coaches from sports clubs and national federations.
Coach’s Day was established by the parliament on July 30, 2026. September 25 was chosen in line with Global Coaches Day, an initiative promoted by the International Council for Coaching Excellence and incorporated into European Week of Sport.
