Producers from both banks of Dniester to benefit from grants for development
Chisinau, 18 January /MOLDPRES/ - Sweden and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), within the AdTrade project, have launched a contest of grants for agricultural producers and processors from both banks of Dniester, who want to unite their efforts to adopt innovating technologies in the process of producing and processing agricultural production, in order to enhance the competitiveness and access new sales markets. The deadline for submitting the applications is 5 February.
Organizations of backing businesses, along with at least two producers or one agricultural producer and one processor from both banks of Dniester, who express commitment to associate and create new jobs, especially for women and socially vulnerable people, can submit files on participation. ‘’The project proposals will receive non-refundable financing worth up to 50,000 dollars each for the purchasing of equipment. The winning partnerships will also benefit from consultancy for developing business,’’ UNDP said.
The contest is open for project proposals regarding the production and processing of fruits, vegetables and table grapes, production and processing of hetero-oleaginous and medicinal plants, turning to account of bee products, breeding animals, processing of products deriving from milk, as well as other activities in the horticultural, phyto-technical and zoo-technical sectors.
The projects are to tackle innovating business ideas, which imply the inclusion of new technologies, cutting the production costs, adaptation of the production and/or processing to the new needs of the market in the context of COVID-19.
The non-refundable financial assistance provided by Sweden within the UNDP project, Development of export capacities on both banks of Dniester (AdTrade), will contribute to the improvement of the business environment, creating jobs and edifying partnerships. This will allow enterprises from both banks of Dniester to overcome the negative impact of the pandemic and would give possibility to companies from the left bank of Dniester to access trade mechanisms available on the right bank, enhance the knowledge and abilities and increase the sales and diversify the sales market.
